Verizon Wireless’s LG Voyager - The Review

by admin on March 12, 2008

The LG Voyager was launched by America’s second largest cell phone carrier, Verizon Wireless. This PDA will basically compete against Apple’s iPhone. It has a wireless web browser, touch screen display, built in music player and 8 GB of memory to store music, photos and multimedia items.

It is the first handset to hit the markets with both QWERTY key board and interactive touch screen display. The Voyager has much more to offer, with a 2 mega pixel camera, bluetooth capable features, microSD Memory Port, and an amazing battery life of 240 minutes talk time and 480 hours stand by. Also it’s 480 x 240 pixel TFT screen is just spectacular.

Even though its a bit larger than the average phones for your tight jeans, no one seems to be complaining after watching all the features it offers. It has two screens with resolutions of 400 x 240 pixels and offers a color combination of 262K. The quality of the screens are very good, and it can be seen even in direct sunlight.

The blue tooth in the Voyager has a enhanced data rate for faster transfers. Its HTML Browser has a big advantage because large web pages can easily be loaded into it and viewed. Its external interface is also very attractive with four quick access buttons like Dial Pad, Menu, Messages, and Phone book. Also if you are the type of person that uses GPS technology, then you would just love this handset. But at a cost of $9.99 per month, it has maps, directions, and local searches inside it.

But with all these features there are a few things which might upset some of you. The inbuilt speakers of Voyager are not something to be proud of. It cracks before reaching the full volume. It has still the old fashioned 2.5 mm headset jack. The digital camera and camcorder still has room for improvement.

Apart from a few complaints, overall this is a phone worth trying. For those of you looking to utilize all the features it provides, it is worth the money that your put into it. You will need to shell out $300 for getting this into your pocket. We are sure that you will enjoy this phone a lot.
