Sprint has just announces the Samsung Instinct will sell for $129 instead of the $199 everybody expected in attempt to heat up the touch screen wars with iPhone. However, there is a slight catch.. The Instinct is only available at the low price after a $100 mail in rebate as well as in conjunction with a minimum $69.99 per month Simple Everything phone plan which has unlimited data and 450 minutes.
It seems to be the trend, lure customers in with dirt cheap phones and sucker punch them with higher cost plans in order to extract the real retail value of the handset. Of course we all want the latest shiny technology, so offering it for minimal costs right now we all say “I have to have it”.
The Samsung Instinct comes with s slick GUI, live TV and Visual Voice Mail, GPS System, over-the-air music downloads, vioce recognition for those moments we have our hands full and a 2MP Camera to boot.
It also has a 2GB Micro SD card for storage which will hold about 2,000 Ringtones with ease, along with the usual accessories such as travel charger, USB Cable, 3.5mm headphones with inbuilt microphone, stylus and carry case. So Sprint Nextel has ensured the Samsung Instinct is a capable phone with everything you need.
All in all it’s a nice looking mobile phone, however it’s web browsing could be improved and in the end after taking in to consideration the monthly plan it comes in at a similar price to the iPhone. However for Sprint Mobile customers, it presents an attractive option for your next mobile.
